Welcome to the support site for Central Louisiana homeschoolers!
You have found a locally-based membership group of Christian homeschoolers, striving to encourage one another and stay on course to educate our children at home. If you are looking for a like-minded group of people with whom to partner as you teach your own children, then check out the details on this site to see if our group is a good fit for your family.
Cenla Christian Home School Association (CCHSA) is a support group for Christian homeschooling families in the Alexandria, Pineville, and surrounding central Louisiana areas. We have both social and educational activities and we plan regular field trips for those who are interested.
We must remind you that each member family is individually responsible for choosing their method of home education. You may educate under either the “home study” program or under the “private school” definition (La. R.S. 17:236, Act 828 of 1980). For more details, visit our FAQs. Important: Your family chooses your own curriculum and you are independently responsible for meeting state requirements. (If you plan to homeschool in a Private School setting, then you must inform the state in writing, no later than 30 days after commencing classes. If you homeschool in a Home Study program, then please send in your paperwork within 15 days of commencing classes. For details about this, please refer to page 4 of the CHEF of Louisiana Information Booklet.)
Another facet to our group is that CCHSA is a member group of Christian Home Educators Fellowship of Louisiana (CHEF of LA), a state-wide homeschool umbrella organization. CHEF of LA attempts to connect, inform, and distribute current legislative information concerning homeschoolers, and works to assist all of the different Christian homeschool groups in the state of Louisiana. More information is available at CHEF of LA.

“The number one reason why we home schooled was so that we could grow as a family in the things of God.” Patty W.
