You may join CCHSA at any time during the school year (August through to the next July). Why would you want to? So we can begin encouraging you with emails, invitations, and events that will help you on your homeschool journey! This requires three steps:
- Submit a membership application form (includes 3 pages: signing a Statement of Faith, filling out the Family Information Form, and signing the Liability Release).
- Pay membership dues, according to the fee schedule below, checks payable to CCHSA.
- Determine Newsletter receipt: the Newsletter will be delivered by e-mail, included in your membership fee of $30.00. If you prefer USPS mail for correspondence, please add $10.00 to your membership dues to cover the costs of monthly postage.
Membership applications are reviewed by the board for approval and must be renewed annually. This is a private organization and membership may be revoked (for confessional or ethical non-compliance with any part of our Statements of Faith or Statements of Belief on Family and on Education) if the member family does not comply with the group policies and guidelines. Membership forms may be printed by downloading from links on this page or contact secretary@cchsa.net.
Membership does not complete Louisiana’s legal requirements for homeschooling, but it does network you with many other families of like mind in Central Louisiana for support and encouragement. Activities coordinated by CCHSA are open to all members. We encourage members to share membership information with other families who are interested in our group, but we ask that you keep our member directory and activity calendar confidential and for personal use only.
If you are interested in becoming a member of CCHSA, please choose one of the two options below:
- 2011 Full Membership Form: Both parents/teachers must sign the CCHSA/CHEF Statement of Faith/Statement of Belief on Family and on Education, indicating that they agree and comply with the statements. They must also fill out a Liability Release and a Family Information Sheet. Return the forms to the address below, with dues ($10.00 of total dues are sent to CHEF of LA for CHEF dues). You will receive voting rights, leadership eligibility, an activity calendar, member directory, and other information when we receive the membership application and dues.
- 2011 Associate Membership Form: Both parents/teachers must sign the CCHSA/CHEF Associate Membership Statement of Faith/Statement of Belief on Family and on Education form, indicating that they agree and comply with the statements. Return the form to the address below, with the Family Information Sheet, Liability Release, and dues ($10.00 of total dues are sent to CHEF of LA for CHEF dues). You will receive an activity calendar, member directory, and other information when we receive the membership application and dues.
(The distinction between Full and Associate Membership is that of a simpler Statement of Faith/Statement of Belief. As a group member of CHEF of LA, and in compliance with their regulations, Associate Members may not vote and are not eligible for the CCHSA Board of Directors.)
NOTE: Membership forms must be turned in by September 30 to be included in the annually published Membership Handbook and Directory and to comply with CHEF deadlines (for discounts for convention attendance).
